“It is my intent to create functional ceramic objects that carry an ethereal sense of time and dreams mixed with physical sense of hand and the earth. By using the method of hand building I am able to pursue layering texture and line in the surface of soft slab. To create the look of an object that has been weathered by time, the pieces are stained with oxides and sprayed with glazes. While many of these images are inspired by my surroundings as a resident of New Orleans, they are ambiguous enough to allow the viewer to insert his or her own meaning and create a personnel connection to the piece.”
