She completed her post-graduate course in print making at the Central School of Art. The work we have has a Southern theme, although Wurr herself is not Southern, but British, living in Vermont.
Wurr developed a unique and completely original process for the decoration of glass. Consequently, she was awarded English and American Patents on the exclusive process she invented and now utilizes in her glasswork. Using a combination of sandblasting and translucent enamel overlay, she creates a graphic finish more reminiscent of textiles than of glass. Penelope’s work is featured in many design and fashion magazines and has been used by prominent set designers in such films as “Batman” and by well-known architects and interior designers internationally.
