From 1995 to 2000, he studied and worked at the Penland School in North Carolina, where he had the opportunity to assist and study under a wide range of influential glass artists.
Geci was the first glass blowing resident at the EnergyXChange program at the Mitchell/Yancey County landfill. The program is a unique methane gas recovery project that has become the nation’s first such site for emerging glass artists as well as potters. Geci has developed his own unique and recognizable style. He creates exquisite bowls, amphora vases and vases he calls “Manta Rays” due to their unique ray-like form. John’s work is shown in galleries from Florida to Massachusetts and as far west as Texas and Ohio.
