Kristin Diable continues to receive recognition across the South and beyond for her unique rock/soul/roots sound. Her instrumental, vocal and songwriting talents combine to create dynamic, sensual and soulful music that transcends beyond any typical roots-influenced music. Her first album, Shelter, was recorded in 2005 while Diable, a Baton Rouge native, was living in New York City and traveling to Baton Rouge and New Orleans to record. A few years later, the young musician decided to return to the South and make New Orleans her home.
Diable's 2012 album, Kristin Diable & the City, earned rave reviews from several publications including the Times-Picayune's Keith Spera who stated, "Kristin Diable & the City is among the year's best local albums. On it, she and her fluent, simpatico band, the City, tease out slow-burn, sensual ruminations on love, loss and desire." The album was nominated for a 2012 "Best of the Beat Award" in the category of best "Folk/Country/Songwriter Album". Her music has been featured on film, including an episode of HBO's hit series True Blood. She performed at the 2013 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the 2013 Austin City Limits Music Festival, and will be returning to Jazz Fest this year.
