Lynda Katz

Some pieces incorporate hand building techniques and/or alliteration of the thrown form. The pieces are decorated by incising or slip trailing. After an initial bisque firing, the pieces are glazed fired in a reduction atmosphere which creates the green celadon colors and the tan shino color. Her work incorporates a broad range of influences from throughout the history of ceramics, especially the classic porcelains of the Chinese Song Dynasty and Japanese folk pottery.
